La Grotta


NELsito è presente la grotta archeologica di “Acquacadda”, bellezza naturalistica e sito preistorico dell’eta del rame.

Il sito di Sa Marchesa prende il nome dalla ormai dismessa miniera di blenda e rame, attiva dal 1880 al 1980. all'interno della grotta e nell’area del sito sono presenti anche numerosi vecchi locali e reperti legati alla miniera.

Il sito si trova accanto al paesino di Nuxis (in sardo = Noci) nel Sulcis, cioè nella parte Sud-Occidentale della Sardegna. Alle spalle del paese domina il Monte Tamara (849 m.) Il territorio di Nuxis, offre oltre alle antiche miniere, il Pozzo Sacro Nuragico di Tattino e la bella Chiesetta Campestre di S. Elia, di epoca bizantina (sita presso la frazione di Tattino). Entrambi i siti sono distanti 4 km dal paese, in direzione Sud.
